Using BlogEasy

Help topics are being added.

Your Profile - Each member has a unique profile. a member's registered blogs and unique articles are associated with his or her member profile.

Locations - Enter the location names of your primary service area. When you enter these in your profile they will be entered automatically in different places in your blog posts (wherever you include the [Location] variable). You should enter the three most relevant location names for your own specific business. For example, Toronto - GTA - Greater Toronto or Chicago - Chicagoland - Metro Chicago or Kitchener-Waterloo - K-W - Waterloo Region.

Your Registered Blogs - You can register Wordpress blogs where you are registered with Author privileges. BlogEasy can submit BlogEasy articles or your own articles (entered into the system) directly to any of your registered blogs.

Remote publishing must be enabled. In your blog's admin area go to Settings/Writing Settings, and under "Remote Publishing" check the box for XML-RPC remote publishing.

When you register a blog in BlogEasy you must use the same user ID and Password as are used in the actual Wordpress blog. See Video

Creating Articles in BlogEasy - You can use BlogEasy to submit "spun" and "localized" versions of BlogEasy articles to your registered blogs. You can also create your own unique articles that are available only to you. You can add "spin" content (variations) to your own articles, and submit a different version to each of your blogs. See Video

Article "Spinning" - "Spinning" an article is the process of adding variations to the original article so that different versions can be generated from that original. Articles and other web content is normally "spun" by authors to turn one article into many. This way an author can submit the same article to many different publishing sites (blogs, article sites, etc.) and not be penalized by the search engines for submitting "duplicate content".

Spinning Method used by BlogEasy - BlogEasy does not use automated spinning based on the substitution of synonyms. BlogEasy articles must be manually spun. This means the author of each article must add grammatically correct variations using the appropriate syntax so the system can create finished variations that make sense.

It is perfectly acceptable to use a spin engine such as TheBestSpinner.com to create content which can then be "localized" and submitted using BlogEasy. Our own experience is that using a spin engine is not significantly faster than simply doing a manual re-write of phrases, sentences or paragraphs. This all depends on your writing ability and the depth of your own vocabulary.

Spinning Syntax - This refers to the code used to tell the BlogEasy system where spinning should take place. BlogEasy uses the standard spin syntax as follows:

{Variation 1|Variation 2|Variation 3}
Note: BlogEasy does not currently support nested spins, i.e., spins within spins.

The system uses these variations to create randomized combinations of all the variations within the article. The more variations you build into your base article, the more unique each "spun" version will be.

Location Variable - Also see "Locations" above - Because many of our clients are local business people, location is an important variable when it comes to Search Engine Marketing. So we have included the capability of adding a "Location variable" to your articles. The syntax for this is:

[Location]

You can specifiy as many as 3 different location variables, and these will be randomized throughout the article (and title) wherever the system finds the [Location] variable.

For example, if you service the "Toronto" area you may want different variations such as:

Toronto
GTA
Scarboro

This allows you to identify your content with specific location names, and increases your chances of being found in searches for those locations.

Adding Video Embed Code - Normally when you want to embed a Youtube video in a blog post you just add the video embed code to the post. This does not work consistently with BlogEasy remote posting. Some servers allow the code to be entered, and some don't.

Instead we take a screen capture of the video and add a link pointing to a blog post where the video is actually embedded.

If you want to manually add the embed code to your post, you can normally find the video embed code to the bottom of a video article, formatted so it will not be submitted when you do a remote post. Submit your post as you normally would, then go back, pick up the embed code and add it to your post (in your blog) instead of the image we have inserted.
