How AgentMapIt Works

How

AgentMapIt.com provides a directory of Real Estate Agents who are interested in sharing referrals with each other. We refer to these as “Top Real Estate Agents” – agents who understand the importance of working with other agents to send each other business. The site works like a search engine and is Google Maps-based. Visitors search for agents in a specific location and member agents in that location are shown on the map and in a list. Visitors can then click on the member’s marker or name and be taken to the member’s profile where they can see a description and contact information.

Why Join AgentMapIt.com

The primary incentive to join AgentMapIt is that the website is being promoted to more than 1 million real estate agents across North America (Canada and the US for now). It is also a source for the general public who are looking for “top real estate agents”. Typically these are people relocating from one part of the country to another.

Creating a Member Profile

When an agent joins AMI, they create a profile that describes their experience and specialization and provides their contact information so other agents can easily contact them.

Agents define their service areas by including location names and keywords in their profiles. For example, your service area may include “Waterloo, Conestogo, Elmira, St. Jacobs, Breslau, Winterbourne”. Whenever someone searches for one of these location names your marker will be displayed on the map, and your name will come up in the list of agents servicing that location.

Exclusivity for Your Location Name

For now there is only one type of membership: “Gold”. We may introduce other levels of membership in the future. “Gold” member Agents are also assigned an “exclusive” location name. For example, if you want “Elmira” for your exclusive location, only your name (and marker) will be displayed when someone searches for “Elmira” or “Elmira ON” or “Elmira Ontario”.

Members are also assigned to a “Regional Network”. For example, if you are in Southern California you will be assigned to the Regional Network in your area. Most referrals happen within regions (from one community to another within the same region), so being part of a specific Regional Network gives you the chance to promote yourself more directly to the members within your Regional Network.

Fees and Commissions

Members are charged a monthly (or annual) fee for joining AMI. There are no fees over and above the monthly membership fee. Commissions and referral fees are arranged between members on a deal by deal basis.

From time to time members may have the opportunity to purchase additional services from AMI. These may include things like special advertising in AMI newsletters or promotional campaigns.

Updates – Exclusive Locations and Regional Networks

March 24, 2009 By: admin Category: Updates No Comments →

Earlier today our newest set of very important changes to the software went live. The first change better defines the Exclusivity feature. The second one lets us create Regional Networks and assign members to different networks. Here is a brief description of each of these features:

Exclusivity

The “exclusivity” feature is now in place. Now each “gold” member can enter one location name for which they have “exclusive” rights. This means that when you have exclusive rights to the location name, for example, to “Barrie, Barrie ON, Barrie Ontario”, when someone searches for any of these variations on this location name, only your profile will display.

Regional Networks

Now we can create “Regional Networks” and assign members to specific networks. For example, we have created the “British Columbia Referral Network”, then as new members from locations in British Columbia (Canada) join, they will be added to this network.

Members of Regional Networks are also members of the North American network.  The addition of regional networks gives each member a “working group” of other members within their regional area. Searchers can look directly at these groups of members, simply by selecting the group in the “Regional Networks” menu selection area.

Regional Networks don’t have to be geographic areas. They can also be defined by things like “Military” or “Commercial” – or other designations requested by members.

Members can be assigned to more than one “Regional Network”. For instance, a member can belong to both the “Ontario Regional Network” and the “Canada Military” network.
